I'd have a look around at Owner Direct Vacation Rentals and just start picking places along your route. It sounds like a great way to plan a vacation! I've actually done that myself, on a smaller level, with just two different places lined up one after the other, and it was just great. It's so much nicer arriving at a vacation home, than it is arriving at a hotel... so much more relaxing. Hope this helps!
