It opens you up to too much liability. Use PayPal or another service where you can email an invoice or a link for the buyer to pay through the service. The buyer does not have to have a PayPal account. The renter can use Visa or Mastercard, and you can refund the deposit after the rental. However, you must make sure that the partial refund is completed within a certain time period (I think 60 days) in order to do the refund.
